Field Service Team Leader


The Field Service Team Leader reports to the Technical Service Manager and is responsible for managing the day to day operations in respect of installation, repair and maintenance of client Lifesciences instruments and the management & leadership of their respective team. He/she is responsible for:
Leading and managing local team of Field Service Engineers

Manages and provides leadership to field service engineers including clear guidance for technical, interpersonal and commercial aspects

Coaches, mentors and develops the engineers to ensure they are adhering to process and working to the expected and prescribed standards.

Responsible for team moral, motivation and engagement

Performs quarterly and end of year appraisals, accurately assesses performance, identifies gaps, set objectives and focuses on development to address gaps and develop talent

Monitors KPI’s & SLA’s with team, reporting progress to field & management team

Develop & maintain strong working relationship with Sales & Applications team, remain commercially aware

Manage field escalations, coordinating technical intervention & customer relationship management



University Degree in Bioengineering, Engineering or related technical and business discipline or equivalent combination of related education and experience

Proven track record in technical service or customer support function

Self-motivated, enthusiastic and friendly

Experienced in people management

Proven Leadership skills

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Results oriented and high level of commercial aptitude

Process oriented and well organized; experienced in continuous improvement methods

Experience in servicing instruments in the medical or research sector

Languages: English, Dutch & French

Full car license is essential
